‘Cliffe Creek’, screenprint, 77cm x 77cm, two versions, each an edition of 4. This is a picture looking across Cliffe Creek (near Gravesend) at low tide with London Gateway container terminal on the horizon. The inter-laced valleys of mud weaving across the creek are amazing. In version 1 (first picture) I've deliberately lightened the tones of the mud flats and in version 2 the tone is close to what I saw. With both I’m seeking to emphasise the contrast with the lichen-speckled wall in the foreground and layers of vegetation, the port and hills beyond in the background.
